KYB & Jack Daniel’s Racing

In motorsport, almost every issue provides for heated debate, but it’s hard to dispute that the 2008 V8 Supercar championship is certain to be one hell of a battle.

One of the teams that many have earmarked for success in 2008 is Jack Daniel’s Racing. Following the recent signing of Todd Kelly, one of the sports most respected drivers, the team recently announced that they’d be joining forces with KYB Shock Absorbers.

Having signed a 3 year sponsorship deal with Jack Daniel’s Racing, the KYB brand name is destined to become synonymous in Australia with performance and reliability, attributes that have always been considered a cornerstone at Larry Perkins outfit.

“We’re very excited about having KYB on board,” said Larry at the team’s season launch recently. “They’re a quality product and we’re sure that this will signal the start of a long relationship that will help increase brand recognition and provide unique marketing opportunities for the guys at KYB.”

KYB Shock Absorbers are distributed in Australia by NGK Spark Plugs ( Australia) Pty. Ltd.

Although KYB are the world’s largest supplier of original equipment suspension, and have been developing hydraulic technology since 1919, the decision to distribute under the NGK Spark Plug banner was only made a few short years ago.

“In terms of the market we operate in, we see V8 Supercars as providing the perfect fit for us to build the KYB brand,” said Peter Hein, associate director sales, N GK Spark Plugs (Australia) Pty. Ltd . “The popularity of V8 Supercars amongst professional mechanics is second-to-none and we have identified this as one of our most important target markets.”

The guys at NGK have been long time supporters of V8 Supercars and the NGK brand has been a feature on the headlights of the Holden Racing Team cars for more than 15 years.

“We have really been successful at leveraging off the brand recognition that being associated with a top line team creates,” said Peter. “And we’re sure that with the signing of Todd, that the Jack Daniel’s cars will be running at the front of the pack.”
